Best wishes for your Maryland wedding! I married my partner four years ago after a 19 year "engagement", and I have to say it makes a big difference to be legally married in the state you live (California in our case).

Emily says...I would love to go to the wedding and be a part of this heartfelt and historic moment, but as a college student I am still legally a Connecticut resident and thus couldn't vote yes. But I consider Maryland my home and worked very hard on my college campus to mobilize the vote. Can I come?

Destiny says...I live in Linthicum, south of Baltimore, and have been a supporter of marriage equality for as long as I can remember. It's was a great pleasure seeing that equal rights for all prevailed at the ballot box. I would love to attend your wedding and I wish you both nothing but the best!

We have yet to actually choose our officiant, but I have a friend who is ordained, and I am thinking of asking him first. I would be honored, if you do nto already have a Minister, to be able to be there for your wedding, to officate your ceremony and formalize ~ LEGALLY ~ your union.
I have been performing weddings on the Eastern Shore for 14 years, and Commitment Ceremonies as well. I am delighted that Maryland has made it legal, and that same sex couples are now able to actually be married.
I have a few ceremonies scheduled for 2013, and they are later in the summer at the beach. It would be an honor to be there for you both on your wedding day. In any case, I am looking forward to following your progress as you are planning your event.
